Kona, Hawai‘i’s Big Island (March 24, 2008) – Fans of Wheel of Fortune, America’s #1 syndicated series, will be tuned in all this week trying to win a chance to accompany hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White to Hawai‘i when the show returns to the Big Island this September.
But the game show’s Hawai‘i fans will be just as excited to see Miss Kona Coffee 2008 Malia Pucong and hula dancers from Traditions Hawai‘i on camera this week. The lovely wahine traveled to Los Angeles in February to shower Pat and Vanna with fresh flower lei, and present baskets of 100 percent Kona coffee to the popular hosts for the taping.
According to the show, Ms. Pucong will be on air Tues., Mar. 25, while Traditions Hawai‘i dancers will be on air Wed., Mar. 26 and Thurs., Mar. 27. But Hawai‘i fans will want to tune in all week to catch glimpses of Hawai‘i’s Big Island.
“It’s quite exciting to make a Big Island of Hawai‘i impression on the viewers of Wheel of Fortune, who will undoubtedly be excited that the show is returning to our Island in September,” said George Applegate, Executive Director of the Big Island Visitors Bureau.
Wheel of Fortune last week announced its “Take Me to Paradise” sweepstakes, which airs tonight on KHON 2 at 6:30 p.m. and runs through Friday.
Ten winners will be given star-style treatment when Wheel of Fortune returns to Hawaii’s Big Island to tape 15 shows in September 2008. The exclusive prize package includes roundtrip airfare courtesy of ATA Airlines, luxurious hotel accommodations at the Hilton Waikoloa Village for themselves and a guest, and reserved seats to the special Wheel of Fortune shows taped outdoors overlooking the spectacular Kohala Coast.
To be eligible to win, viewers should tune in to Wheel of Fortune any night during the week of March 24 – 28 and watch for that night’s Bonus Puzzle Solution then log onto www.wheeloffortune.com and follow the easy instructions to enter online.
Fans can also browse the show’s site to take a virtual tour of this week’s special Hawai‘i Island set, and see Vanna White’s island-inspired designer fashions.
